Automotive technology: New plug-in system equipment

In der Kfz-Ausstattung A1.1.1.5 Grundlagen der System- und Hochvolttechnik lernen Auszubildende u.a. Schutzmaßnahmen im HV-eigensicheren Fahrzeug kennen.

The LEYBOLD pegboard system is a tried and tested experimental programme, the core of which is the grid pegboard. The theme-specific sets in stackable plastic drawers offer space-saving and clearly organised storage of STE elements, components and accessories.

Today we would like to introduce you to the new plug-in system equipment from the automotive technology sector!

BASICS OF AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICS/ELECTRONICS

In view of the increasing spread of electric vehicles, basic knowledge of electrics and electronics is important. Sensors, actuators, drives, lighting equipment, data transmission equipment, etc. are the important components in this context, the basic functionality of which is investigated experimentally with this equipment.

Features:

  • Basic system for automotive electrics and electronics
  • Comprehensive basic exercise and vehicle-specific project tasks
  • Use of workshop measurement technology
  • including 3-phase AC current and PWM/PFM technology

SENSORS IN THE VEHICLE

Using practical examples, experiments can be set up with the basic equipment as a basis for the sensor circuits. A jump sensor can be connected via the lambda sensor connection box and analysed using a Bunsen burner flame.

Features:

  • Original components with typical vehicle sensors
  • Significance of different interfaces: analogue, digital, PWM
  • Various sensor sets can be combined

ACTORICS IN THE VEHICLE

Input-processing-output: this principle of data processing, known as "EVA", is based on the interaction of sensors and actuators. The actuator is the only way for the control unit to interact with the environment.

With this equipment, LEYBOLD offers a collection of plug-in elements with which all important properties of actuators can be analysed. Special components are being investigated for the field of electromobility in particular.

Features:

  • Original components in practical circuits
  • Significance of different controls: analogue, digital, PWM
  • CAN bus nodes as individual switching elements
  • Electromobility: DC/DC converter, battery cell and battery management system (BMS)

BASICS OF SYSTEM & HIGH-VOLTAGE TECHNOLOGY

Protective measures in the HV intrinsically safe vehicle
A vehicle that uses technical measures to ensure complete contact and arc protection against the high-voltage system is called "intrinsically safe".

LEYBOLD offers all the necessary components for the safe testing of such systems as plug-in elements that are operated with a safe low voltage of 24 V.

Features:

  • Principle of the IT network with 1st/2nd fault
  • Danger to persons due to short circuit
  • Function and use of the insulation monitor
  • Measurement of the potential equalisation resistance
