Compact and mobile laboratory

COM4LAB combines practice-orientated experimentation with the advantages of interactive e-learning for the best learning results. The compact electrical engineering laboratory can be used at the workstation in the lab, but also everywhere else, as it has been designed to allow powering up through a standard power bank and is therefore independent of any mains connection.

The innovative COM4LAB training system is the ideal solution for effective and practical training. No time needs to be invested in preparation. Therefore, teachers and trainers have more time to provide individualised support to trainees. In addition, COM4LAB enables self-study coursework that can be performed anywhere.

Comprehensive curriculum coverage

COM4LAB offers over 30 courses in electrical and automotive engineering, covering the entire curriculum from circuit technology to communications engineering and other advanced topics. The COM4LAB courses are characterised by the topicality, realism and quality of the learning content. This is conveyed in an appealing and didactic way using animations, texts, images, interactive elements and videos. Trainees actively perform the integrated experiments on the experiment board and learn the necessary skills directly and sustainably. Regular knowledge checks via multiple choice, closed tests and Yes/No answers test the knowledge acquired.

The COM4LAB editor makes it easy to customise courses and create your own teaching content.

Cloud-based courses

COM4LAB courses can be accessed from the cloud at any time and from anywhere and can be used on all end devices without installation. The system is compatible with all common smartphones, tablets and laptops, regardless of the operating system or manufacturer. Up to four trainees can connect their devices to a COM4LAB workstation, which promotes teamwork in combination with individual learning. Courses can be saved and edited flexibly, making COM4LAB ideal for preparation and homework, even without physical hardware. The digital courses can be quickly made accessible to all trainees via QR codes or links and shared via various LMS platforms. If needed, the courses can also be downloaded to be used offline.

Efficient training system

COM4LAB is an efficient training system that minimises preparation time and enables a quick start to in the lab through rapid assembly and disassembly. It combines theory and practice, promotes self-study and its robust design ensures longevity and low follow-up costs. The cloud-based, platform-independent system offers a high degree of future-proofing and replaces expensive laboratory infrastructures. Compared to large training systems, COM4LAB reduces maintenance costs and its modular design allows for cost-efficient expansion.

COM4LAB courses on Electrical Drives

Watch now: Demo course "COM4LAB Electrical Drives - Synchronous Machines":

Open course

The COM4LAB courses on Electrical Drives consist of three parts.

In the "Asynchronous Machines" course, the operating behaviour of these machines is explained on a physical-mechanical level and examined by recording characteristics using an integrated machine test system. Terminal connections, changing of rotational direction and speed control are practically devised using a number of experiments.

The "Synchronous Machines" course deepens the understanding of the operating behaviour of synchronous machines, including speed measurement and adjustment. In addition, the operation and behaviour of stepper motors are taught through practical experiments.

In the "DC Machines" course, the operating behaviour of DC machines for different connection types is explained and practically devised through a variety of experiments.

COM4LAB courses on Control Engineering

The COM4LAB courses on control engineering consist of three courses that build on each other.

The course “Introduction to Control Engineering” teaches the basic concepts and laws Control Engineering.

The "Control Loops and Stability" course deepens the understanding of control loops and their laws.

The course “Applied Modern Control Engineering” deals with modern approaches for the control of complex systems, such as those found in the automotive industry or aerospace. It also explains the influence of technical limitations on control loops.

The trainees can also experiment freely with compatible external controlled systems.
