Independent experimentation

Discover the world of science with the Science Kit and Riedenburg Model

LEYBOLD offers two innovative systems for lower secondary schools: the Riedenburg Model and Science Kits. Both encourage pupils to experiment independently and thus awaken their enthusiasm for science. With these systems, we have created easy access to experimentation for grades 5 to 10. Our carefully designed experiments require minimal preparation time and are designed to be carried out successfully and safely. The Riedenburg Model and Science Kits offer easy organisation of the collection and an all-round carefree package for teachers. They support sustainable learning through active experience and help pupils to acquire both basic and methodological skills that are in line with the curriculum. They also promote a phenomenological understanding of everyday topics. We offer two different systems to fulfil your desire for experimental science lessons. The Riedenburg model consists of selected experiments for each year group, while the Science Kit contains collections of experiments on a specific topic.

The Science Kit KS Riedenburg model

Teaching nature and technology in a simple, safe and time-saving way

The Riedenburg model, developed by teachers Mr Schuster and Mr Klein at the Riedenburg secondary school in Bavaria, stands for efficient and skills-oriented science and technology lessons. It enables teachers to organise interesting lessons in which pupils can experiment independently in a minimum of time. This unique system covers the subjects of biology, chemistry, physics and technology. All experiments for a year group are organised in a colour-coded cabinet, drastically reducing preparation time. Each experiment is summarised in a drawer. This means that teachers can simply take their experiment out of the cabinet for the lesson. This structure ensures quick set-up, safe implementation and also supports teachers who are not familiar with the subject. Clear, structured instructions and detailed step-by-step photos in the accompanying literature ensure that each experiment can be carried out successfully.

The Science Kits

Variety to discover in every classroom

The Science Kits offer over 130 basic experiments in physics, around 100 in chemistry and 65 in biology. The kits are designed in line with the curriculum for lower secondary level. They cover topics such as mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, optics, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, botany, ecology, microbiology, physiology, microscopy and genetics. Our science kits are characterised by their simple and functional design. With robust, easy-to-use materials, the kits are perfect for inspiring and safe science lessons. They enable time-efficient experimentation through quick assembly and disassembly and are ideal with age-appropriate experiments and worksheets. With a thematic organisation and teacher worksheets that provide lots of information about the experiment, the science kits support teachers in preparing individual lessons.
