The LEYBOLD X-ray apparatus

The LEYBOLD X-ray system has a modular structure and enables an individual configuration, so that you only buy what you actually need. The basic apparatus comes with a Mo tube, goniometer and NaCl monocrystal. To enable a wide range of applications, you can choose from different LEYBOLD accessories and tubes made of diverse materials like iron or gold.

German institutional approved safety

The LEYBOLD X-ray apparatus includes many safety features like an automatic lock and two independent safety circuits and has been approved by the German federal office for radiation protection (BfS 05/07 V/Sch RöV). This certification guarantees the compliance of the apparatus with the requirements for usage at schools and universities. 

Amazing resolution

The X-ray apparatus works with a goniometer, which provides a resolution of up to 0.01° for a High-Definition Bragg spectra. Therefore, it is extremely suitable for fine structure of characteristic X-ray radiation.

Intuitive operation

According to the “One touch - One function” principle our X-ray apparatus is designed to immediately set every function manually with one specific button. The current settings are shown on the large digital display. Experiments can be performed without a PC or with parallel assistance of the X-ray software.

Digital teaching

CASSY Lab 2 for X-ray enables comprehensive measurements and data evaluations with high-end diagrams and a modern, user-friendly interface. It allows live data distribution via QR codes to all student devices (Windows, Android, iOS, MacOS, Linux). Key features include free conversion of recorded spectra, Bragg spectra display in polar diagrams, and support for the HD upgrade kit, increasing goniometer angular resolution to 0.01°. Extensive integrated help with experiment examples and advanced measurement options, like identifying characteristic lines using the periodic table, make CASSY Lab 2 an indispensable tool for students and educators.
